BUENA

Sami Whitcomb: GPA: 4.0 Samantha has taken AP classes in English, World History and Government. She is a CSF qualifier, a National Honor Society member and Gold seal bearer. She has four varsity Basketball letters. She has been selected for thirty-three different individual honors so bear with us if we miss a few. In her career, Sami has been selected 11 all tournament teams. She has won many Bulldog team honors, was selected All Channel View league four times, All County and All CIF three times and also on the All State team three times. She has been the County Coaches MVP twice, the STAR player of the year this year and the Channel league Co-MVP for two years. Sami has tutored in Project Understanding, volunteered in the Bulldog canned food drive, the Relay for Life and as a chess club member, played chess with senior citizens. She will enroll at the University of Washington on a basketball scholarship and major in Communications. Sami hopes for a career in broadcasting or journalism.

Scott Siman: GPA: 3.0 Scott earned four varsity letters- two in Swimming and two in Water Polo. As a junior Water Polo player, he was 1st team All Channel league and All CIF while leading his Bulldogs to the playoffs. He was also team MVP. As a senior he repeated on the All league 1st team, All CIF and as team MVP. In the quarter final CIF game, he scored seven goals against Royal. In Swimming, he qualified for CIF in the 200 Free twice and was the Bulldogs MVP. His goal is to play Water Polo for two years at Ventura College and then go on to play for UCSB. After graduation from college he wants to enroll in a fire academy and have a career as a firefighter.

CAMARILLO

Lauren Erb: GPA: 3.98 Lauren was selected to the All CIF academic team, is a 4-year CSF member and has won the Optimists Club academics award. Lauren has four varsity Softball letters. Her honors include most improved, best defensive player, the CIF Pursuing Victory with Honor awards and was a Daily News Athlete of the week. She was selected to the All Pacific league teal three times. She has been a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department volunteer. Lauren has participated in the Relay for Life and is a food preparation and distribution volunteer for Catholic services specializing in feeding the homeless. In the fall she will enroll at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to major in Kinesthesiology hoping to become a physical therapist working with a professional sports team.

Ted Price: GPA: 4.6 Ted has taken A.P. classes in English 4, Chemistry, U.S. History, Spanish 4, Calculus AB, Physics C and Micro Economics. He has been in CSF for four years, All CIF in Academics, a Ventura STAR scholar and is an All State Scholar Athlete nominee. He has won school awards in Science, mathematics, English, Foreign Language and ranks #1 in his class. Ted has listed 59 different athletic achievements while earning four varsity letters in Cross Country and four in Track. In cross Country Ted has been the Scorpions MVP three years, All Pacific View four times, All County four times, Pacific View individual champion three times, Ventura County champion three times, All CIF four times and this year was the Div. I champion. He was named to both the All State and the All Western Region teams. In Track, it is difficult to enumerate every award but Ted was All league four times, All County three times, was Pacific View league champion in the 3200 m. three times and the 1600 m twice. He has school and league records in both events also. This year he was the Div. II 3200 m champion. Ted has volunteered at Pleasant Valley Hospital three years, has helped out at Relay for Life, the RAIN project and the Rescue Mission. In the fall he will enroll at Princeton University and major in Biophysics. He plans a career in either Medicine or Theoretical Physics.

CHANNEL ISLANDS

Dorinamarie Padilla: GPA: 4.00 Dorinamarie has taken A.P. classes in Spanish (Native Speaker), English 4, Calculus and Physics. She is the raiders Student of the Year, has received the Upward Bound Achievement Award and is an American Legion Girl’s State candidate. She ranks #1 in a class of 586, scored 1910 on the SAT and is a valedictorian nominee. Dorinamarie has five varsity letters- two in basketball, two in Volleyball and one in Softball. She has been named scholar athlete in every sport she has played. She has won the Coaches Award twice in Basketball and has been MVP of the Volleyball team. Dorinamarie also has a long list of volunteer activities- the Walk of Life, three years working with diabetic children, the Interact Club, the Food Share program, the Strawberry festival and the Glenwood Senior Citizen Home. She belongs to UC Ambassadors, has won the following scholarships: Westup, Ventura County Community Federation and one from Veterans for Peace. Dorinamarie will attend U.C.L.A. and major in biology. She hopes to become an athletic trainer and a physical therapist.

CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN

Kaitlin Walker: GPA: 4.42 Kaitlin has taken A.P. Economics and Government and Politics and is #1 her class. She has won fourteen different academic honors including being named an All American Scholar twice, won the 2006 Optimist “Joel McCrea” award and is on the CIF All Academic team. Kaitlin placed first in Biochemistry at the 2004 Ventura County Science Fair, in Human Behavior in 2005 and this year was voted the Senior Division Outstanding Project by the County Psychological Association. She has four varsity softball letters and four in Basketball. She has been Softball team captain for two years and this batted .583 and scored 29 runs. Her Crusaders won three league championships and she was chosen for the Majestic All League team two times. She has been an All Tournament selection twice in the Grace Brethren Tournament. In Basketball, she won the Coaches Award and was team captain twice. Kaitlin has listed nine community activities in which she has participated including being a Mission World House builder in Mexico, a volunteer with the “Ride On” program for disabled children, a mentor with the Impact program and Secretary of the Wider Focus Community Service Organization. Kaitlin is headed to UCLA where she will major in Biology on her way to becoming a physician.

Jacob Jones: GPA: 4.2 Jacob is ranked third in his class, is a member of the National Honors Society, has been on the Honor Roll and was awarded the Carmen Camarillo Jones Award. He has earned three varsity Basketball letters. A three-time team MVP, he has also won All Omega Conference 1st team honors twice. As a junior, he earned the Army national Scholar Athlete award and as a senior was chosen to the Santa Clarita Tournament. Jacob has volunteered on a missions trip to Mexico. He will be attending California State University Channel Islands on a CSUCI Presidential Scholarship and is undecided on his major.

FILLMORE

Nadine Orozco: GPA: 3.8 Nadine has taken AP classes in English 11, Biology, U.S. History, English 12, Economics and Government. She has been a Renaissance scholar for four years, won the Fillmore Girl of the Month award, was Wendy’s Heisman Female scholar and the Flashes Citizen of the Year. Nadine has also been named the Most Outstanding scholar athlete in the Fillmore Unified School District. She has four varsity Basketball letters. She has been named to all tournament teams four times and has been the Flashes MVP three times. Also she has been selected All Tri Valley league twice. Nadine has been freshman orientation leader for the past two years and has participated in campus clean up. She has also assisted in running tournaments for the Heat and Condor girls basketball leagues. She will enroll at Northland College in September but has not chosen a major as of yet.

Andrew Gerardy: GPA: 3.9 Andrew has taken AP classes in European History, U.S. History, English 10, English 11, American Literature, Economics and Government. He has been a 4-year Honor Roll member and a Renaissance scholar for three years. He has four varsity letters, two in soccer and two in track. In Soccer, as a junior he was team captain, offensive MVP, All Tri Valley league, All County and 1st team All CIF on a Div.VI championship team. His senior year Andrew was team MVP, team captain, tri Valley MVP, All CIF and Div.VI player of the year on a CIF runner up. In Track he was All League in four events, a CIF finalist in three, set school records in two events and was Sprinter of the Year. Andrew has volunteered over 600 hours in AYSO and is active in gymnastics. In the fall he will attend UCLA and major in either history or pre-law with hopes of becoming a Sports Attorney if not a professional soccer player.

GRACE BRETHREN

Jennifer Irvine: GPA: 3.1 Jennifer lettered in Softball and led her Lancer team into the CIF play offs. She batted .591, had nine doubles, 45 RBIs and had a pitching record of 12-2. Jennifer broke seven school records: least hits allowed, most strike outs, fewest walks allowed, fewest games lost, ERA, batting average and RBIs. She tied two school records: games won and home runs. She was elected MVP of both the Grace Invitational and Grace Brethren Tournaments. Jennifer was the Lancer team MVP, 1st team All Gold Coast Athletic Conference, League MVP and the Grace Brethren Female Athlete of the Year. She sings in her church choir and has accepted the largest athletic scholarship ever awarded to Trinity Christian College. Jennifer will play Softball for Trinity and major in Biology-Animal Science.

Steve Gourley: GPA: 3.4 Steve has taken A.P. classes in American Literature and Statistics and has been named to the Honor Roll every year. He has four varsity Football letters. He has been selected the Lancer Defensive Player of the Year three times, and was team MVP his senior year. He has been chosen All League team four times, All CIF three times, All Ventura County twice, the Alpha League Defensive Player of the Year twice and the CIF Player of the Year twice. In his junior year the Grace Brethren Lancers were Div. XII CIF champions. As a senior he was selected to the All Star team. Steve has volunteered as an elementary basketball coach and Goodwill helper. In September Steve will enroll at College of the Canyons and play football. He will major in criminology on his way to a career as a member of the Los Angeles P.D. SWAT team.

HUENEME

Cherelle Velasquez: GPA: 3.3 Cherelle has taken AP classes in Calculus and Spanish 4. She has been a member of the Honor Roll in both junior and senior years. She has five varsity letters- three Softball, one Tennis and one Soccer. She was All League three times in Softball and once on Tennis. Cherelle has been selected for the Coaches Award, co-MVP in her junior year and MVP as a senior. She has volunteered at the Humane Society Thrift Store and the Union Rescue Mission. In the fall she will enroll at California State University, Chico where she will major in Anthropology. She hopes for a career in Forensics, either a psychologist or scientist.

La REINA

Ashlee Thompson: GPA: 3.2 Ashlee has been on the honor roll for three years, been nominated for the Global Young Leaders Conference and has received Citizenship honors every semester for four years. She has earned eleven varsity letters – four volleyball, four softball and three soccer. In volleyball she has been team captain, All Tri Valley twice, Offensive MVP, All county and All CIF. She has been an All Tournament pick three times. In softball, Ashlee has been team captain for two years, All Tri Valley three years, All County twice and All CIF twice. She has played on a Regents team that went to the CIF semi finals. In soccer she was starting goalkeeper for three years. Ashlee has volunteered as a coach for many softball and volleyball youth teams. She has also worked as a volunteer at the county Special Education summer school for two years and at St. Rose of Lima Parish carnivals. In the fall she will play volleyball at Abilene Christian University in Texas. She will probably major in either business or communication science. Someday she would like to go to graduate school and study architecture.

MOORPARK H.S.

Paige Peterson: GPA: 3.1 Paige has been on the Honor Roll for four years. She has three varsity letters in Basketball. She was chosen team captain three years and was selected All Tournament team at the Ventura Optimist Tournament twice. She was Musketeer Offensive MVP, once, Defensive MVP two times and team MVP twice. Paige has been on the All Marmonte team twice and made the All CIF team as a senior. She was voted by the entire Moorpark Coaching Staff as the Most Dedicated Athlete of the Year. Paige has volunteered at basketball Summer League and has helped conduct freshman Basketball Try Outs. She has accepted a Basketball scholarship to Humboldt State where she will major either in Sociology or Art. Paige would like a career as a Director of a Fashion Institute or as a Fashion Coordinator.

Eric Bodjanac: GPA: 3.5 Eric has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll for four years. He has four varsity letters in Wrestling and three in Track. He has qualified for CIF three times in Wrestling and twice in Track. As a wrestler he medaled in 13 tournaments including 1st place in his weight class in the Marmonte League. In his senior year he was Marmonte MVP, All Ventura County 1st team, placed 4th in CIF and qualified for the Master’s Meet. In track his Musketeers won three league championships. In the pole vault he placed in six tournaments including 1st and 2nd place finishes in the county championships and in his senior year he placed 1st in the Marmonte championships. Eric has volunteered for the last year at Los Robles Regional Medical center. He is heading to Moorpark College in the fall to major in Biology. He hoped for a career in medicine.

NEWBURY PARK

Kavita Goss: GPA: 4.04 Kavita has taken A.P. English, European History, U.S. History, Government and Economics. She is a four year CSF member, belongs to the National Honor Society and is a four year Ventura County scholar athlete. Kavita has four varsity basketball letters. She has earned over fifty different individual and team awards. She has led her Panther team in points, rebounds, steals and assists. At a school rich in Girls Basketball tradition, she has shattered the record book breaking five school records including single game points (41), career assists (409) and season 3 point shots (67). Kavita has been selected All Marmonte League, All County and All CIF three times each. She has also been chosen All State twice and All Western region once. In her senior year she was Marmonte League MVP and Ventura County Player of the Year. Kavita has volunteered at the Conejo Valley Winter Shelter as a Special Olympics volunteer and active with the Newbury Park High School Key Club. She was a delegate to the Conejo Youth Congress and at the Las Virgenes Future Foundation. Kavita will enroll at Loyola Marymount University as a pre-med major hoping for a career in sports medicine.

Jordan Cameron: GPA: 3.3 Jordan has three varsity letters in Basketball, two in Volleyball and one in Football. In Basketball, Jordan has been Panther Offensive MVP once, team MVP twice and All Marmonte twice. In his junior year, he was not only Marmonte MVP but also selected to the All State team. In Volleyball, he was team captain twice and the Panther MVP. In Football as a receiver he was chosen Newbury Park’s best offensive player. This year he was named Newbury Park’s Male Athlete of the Year. Jordan has volunteered in many service projects at his church and has coached at community Basketball Camps. He has accepted a full athletic scholarship in Basketball and will attend Brigham Young University. He will major in History and hopes to become a teacher.

NORDHOFF

Sarah Stoltz: GPA: 4.02 Sarah has taken A.P. classes in Government, Spanish, Calculus and Physics and ranks #11 in her class. She is a four year Honor Roll member and was selected to both the All County and All CIF Scholastic teams. Sarah has six varsity letters and her ranger teams went to CIF six times. She has four letters in Soccer and two in Softball. In Soccer she was an All Frontier League choice four times and on the All CIF team twice. In her senior year she was team MVP, League MVP and named to the All County team. In Softball, she was selected to the All League team twice. Sarah has volunteered with the Nordhoff Blood Drive both as a worker and donor several times. She is headed to UC Santa Barbara where she will major in Mechanical Engineering.

Robert Erickson: GPA: 4.1 Robert has taken A.P. classes in World History, English II, Spanish IV, Psychology, Calculus and Government. He is a four year CSF and seal bearer at graduation, has been on the principal’s honor roll and has received an academic letter in Advanced Psychology. Robert has five varsity letters- three in football and two in basketball. In football, he played quarterback and defensive back, was team captain and was nominated for the All Ranger football first team. He was All Frontier and All County and on a three year CIF semifinalist team. In basketball, he was team captain, All League on a Ranger team that was Frontier League champion and went onto the CIF semifinals. Last year he was named Best defensive Player and this year was team MVP. Robert has volunteered for the American Heart Association for 4 years and as a Heart and Sole 5K/10K race volunteer. For the last two years has regularly visited Ojai nursing homes. In September Robert will start studying for his major- Business/Economics- at USC. He plans to get an MBA and eventually start his own company.

OAK PARK

Kelsey Connor: GPA: 3.9 Kelsey has taken A.P.classes in English III and Statistics. She has been selected to the National Honor Society and is a CSF 100% member. She has earned nine varsity letters- four in track, four in cross country and one in basketball. In cross country she has been All Tri Valley four times, All County four times, the Eagles team captain three years, All CIF three times, 2005 Runner of the Year and All State as a junior. Her team placed 12th in the NIKE National Meet. In track she has been team captain three times, All Tri Valley seven times at the 400 and 800 meter distances and Tri Valley MVP three times. In total her resume includes 34 different honors. Kelsey has participated with her church group for 4 years, volunteered in the Agape Youth Ministry and worked for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. In the fall she will enroll at USC. While she has not decided her major she is interested in different avenues- Kinesthesiology, Nutrition, Psychology and Child Development. She definitely wants to work at helping other people.

Matt Alexander: GPA: 3.9 Matt has taken AP classes in English, Statistics, Biology and Chemistry. He has been a member of the Honor Roll, a CSF member for four years and has been selected to the National Honor Society. He was an invitee to the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2005 and an All County academic award winner in both 11th and 12th grades. Matt has three varsity letters in football and two in Baseball. In Football he was the Eagles Rookie of the Year in 2004 and the Offensive MVP in 2005. He was Tri Valley Player of the Year, All County, All CIF and was selected by Cal Hi Sports magazine to its All State team as a senior. He was also captain of the Baseball team this year. For the last four years Matt has been a member of the Agape Singers, an outreach group which sings in children’s hospitals, drug rehabilitation centers, convalescent homes, juvenile halls and detention camps. Matt has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs where he will play Football and study to become an Air Force pilot.

OXNARD H.S.

Branwyn Lee: GPA: 3.5 Branwyn has taken A.P. English Language, French Statistics and ranks in the top 10% of her class. She has been on the honor roll and is a three year scholar Athlete. Branwyn earned four varsity Water Polo letters and three in Swimming. In her Water Polo career she has been selected for the Coaches Award, Most Inspirational Player, team captain, Yellowjackets MVP twice, All Pacific league twice, League MVP this year and selected to the All CIF team twice. In Swimming she was named Most Improved twice, chosen team captain and competed at CIF in the 100 Free. Branwyn has been a five year volunteer in the County Lifeguard program, worked for the ONE Foundation to end world hunger and collected money for Katrina victims through Amnesty International. In the fall she will enroll at Long Beach State, play Water Polo and major in Marine Biology. Branwyn hopes to earn a Secondary Teaching Credential.

Seth Bradish: Seth has two varsity Football letters and two in Basketball. In Football as a junior he was elected for the Yellowjacket Spirit Award and the All Pacific View league team. As a senior he earned the 110% award, the “Best Hands” Award, repeated as an All Pacific View league First team selection as a wide receiver and was chosen the Old Spice “Red Zone” Football Player of the Year. In Basketball, Seth was named Most Inspirational Player twice and chosen the Adelphia Player of the game vs. Buena in the CIF playoffs. He volunteered as a coach for a 7th Grade Basketball team that has an undefeated season. In the fall, Seth will enroll at Bakersfield College to major in Business. Even though he understands how difficult this may be, his career goal is to play in the NFL as a wide receiver.

PACIFICA

Marissa Romero: GPA: 3.9 Marissa has taken A.P. classes in English 4, Government, Economics, Spanish and Calculus AB. She has earned numerous scholar athlete awards, academic letters and the English Department Award for Excellent Performance in the A.P. test. She ranks in the top 4% of her class of 688. Marissa has three varsity Golf letters, one in Basketball and one in Track. As a golfer, she was selected to the All Pacific League team three times and was the Tritons MVP twice. In Basketball, she led the county in three pointers and broke the school record for three point shots in a game. She has been selected to play in the County All Star game and has competed in the CIF Playoffs. Marissa is president of the Youth Directors Council sponsored by the Oxnard Police Activities League. They have been working on short films with themes based on suicide, gang violence, sex and eating disorders. She is actively working at homeless shelters and has organized clean up days to beautify Police League facilities. Marissa will attend U.C. Irvine where she hopes to major in either International Relations or Political Science. She hopes to become an analyst for the CIA, monitoring international narcotic trafficking.

Kalvin Henry: GPA: 3.8 Kalvin has taken A.P. Micro Economics, Calculus, American Government and ranks #26 in his class. He is a Trident award winner for three years and is a Bank of America Scholar. Kalvin has earned three varsity Track letters and two in Football. In Track he set a school record in the 4X100 Relay and qualified for CIF in the 100 m, 200 m and the 4X100 Relay. In Football he was selected first Team All County in Academics, Offensive MVP of his team and named to the All Pacific League team. Kalvin has been a three year has volunteered for three years at his church and worked extensively for its Annual Festival. He will head for San Diego state in the fall to major in Business Administration. He hopes to find a career as a stockbroker or in marketing.

RIO MESA

Randi Hicks: GPA: 3.33 Randi is a four-time Spartan Scholar Athlete Award winner. She has nine varsity letters- three in basketball, four in track and two in volleyball. Randi has played on three CIF playoff basketball teams. She has been a five-time All tournament pick, Spartan team MVP twice, and All Pacific league and All County two times each. In her volleyball career she was chosen Most Improved as a junior. As a senior, Randi was team MVP and All Pacific league. In track, she broke two Rio Mesa weightlifting records and qualified for the CIF in shot put. She has volunteered for beach clean ups, at the Ventura County Fair and has helped out at the Trinity Children’s Place Day Care Center. Randi has accepted a basketball scholarship at Cal poly, Pomona where she will major in Sociology/Criminology and hopes to become a law enforcement officer.


Robert “RJ” Martin: GPA: 4.6 R.J. has taken A.P. classes, has been a CSF and Renaissance Scholar for four years. He was honored with the Camarillo Noontime Optimist Joel McCrea top award and was the Spartans Science Department Award winner. R.J. ranks first in his class, is a National Merit Commended Scholar, as A.P. Scholar with Honor and is a valedictorian candidate. He has earned four varsity basketball letters and three in track. His basketball teams went to the CIF playoffs four times. He is the Spartans career leader in rebounds, is in the top five in scoring. As a senior he was voted team captain, team MVP, was selected to the All County team and was chosen All Pacific League two times. Competing in the shot put, he placed fifth in the County championships, set an All Meet record for throwers at the 400 Meter Relays and competed at CIF. His teams won three league championships. R.J. has a long list of volunteer activities, including being selected a national Leadership Forum delegate. He has participated in student government, helped out at beach and parks clean up days and has also volunteered as a physical therapy assistant. R.J. has accepted a Basketball scholarship to Claremont McKenna College to major in Economics. He hopes to become successful in business to fund a charitable foundation encouraging youth sports.

ROYAL

Rebecca Heteniak: GPA: 4.4 Rebecca ranks in the top 2% of her senior class of 627. She is a three year CSF member and has taken A.P. classes in World History, U.S. History, English Literature and Calculus A and B. Rebecca has eight varsity letters- four in softball and four in basketball. She has competed in the CIF playoffs eight times- four in each sport. She has been a softball all tournament player six times. She has Highlander records for home runs, RBIs and wins. Her pitching record this year was 13-2 with an ERA of .038 which led the County. She has been a member of three Marmonte league championship teams and has earned All League honors three times. Rebecca has also been selected All Ventura County, All CIF two times and has been team MVP twice. In her junior year, the Highlanders were CIF champions and named California State champions, large school division. She was also selected to the All State team. In basketball, Rebecca was team captain, played on a league championship team and was named to the All Marmonte team three times. She has volunteered 96 hours of community service in youth basketball and softball clinics. She was team liaison for the Royal High Adopt-A-Soldier program and organized the sending of 30 boxes of treats and letters to members of the 10th Mountain Division based in the desert outside Baghdad. Rebecca has also been nominated for the Northern Area CIF Champions of Character Award. She has accepted a softball scholarship to De Paul University in Chicago. She will major in Mathematics hoping to become a mathematician.

Jason Pederson: GPA: 3.5 Jason has taken A.P. Calculus A and B, Calculus B and C, Physics, Computer Science, American Government and Economics. He is an A.P. Merit Scholar Award finalist and scored 1800 on the SAT. Jason has four varsity cross country letters and four in track. He has gone to CIF eight times and been part of six Marmonte league championship teams. In cross country he was team captain and emotional leader of a Highlander team that in his junior and senior years placed 1st at the Woodbridge, the Mt. SAC and the Stanford Invitationals. They set a new course record at Woodbridge and shattered the Mt. SAC record by 37 seconds. Jason has been Ventura County Runner of the Year twice and he led his team to the Ventura County Championships twice. As a sophomore his team was second in CIF Div.I, and 2nd at the State Championships in Fresno. As a junior, his Highlanders won CIF, won the State championship and ran fourth in the NIKE National Meet in Portland. This senior year, they repeated as CIF and California State champions. In track he has numerous honors but noteworthy was his 4 X 1 mile team’s eighth best time in the history of the Arcadia Relays. The Highlanders are picked to finish the year ranked number 1 in the nation. Jason has volunteered many hours coaching youth teams. He has developed and maintained the track team web site and has been in Leadership for three years. He was team liaison for two years for the Royal High Adopt-A-Soldier program and under his leadership they have sent over 40 boxes of personal hygiene items to a group of medics of the 101st Airborne unit based outside Tikrit. Jason has been nominated for the Northern Area CIF Champions of Character Award. Dwight Roberson: GPA: 2.7 Dwight has played on four Tri Valley League championship football teams, three CIF championship teams and on a Cal Hi Sports State championship team in 2005. he has been selected for twenty-six different individual awards, so bear with us if we miss some. Dwight has lettered in football four times. He was All Tri Valley three times, All County three times and All Tri County three times. He was All CIF Defensive Player of the Year twice and named to the All State team two times. This year Dwight was team MVP, Ventura County Defensive Player of the Year, All CIF, Gatorade Player of the Year, All State and All American. He was also selected one of the five top players in California. He will play in the Shrine All Star game this month. Dwight has been an AYSO volunteer, a Pop Warner assistant coach and has received a community service award from Congresswoman Lois Capps. He has been awarded a football scholarship to Oregon State University where he will major in Business. He hopes to start his own business.

SANTA CLARA

Winnie Chan: GPA: 4.0 Winnie has taken A.P. classes in Calculus, Government and U.S. History. She is on the National Honor Roll, was the 2004 student of the year, won the CIF academic award, is the number one student in her class and was valedictorian at graduation. Winnie has eight varsity letters- four in Cross Country and four in Track. She was earned the Coaches Award in Cross Country and was named Most Valuable Runner three times. She was team MVP in Track three times. Winnie has participated in the CROP Walk, volunteers as a tutor and has been a volunteer helper at the Ventura Half Marathon. Winnie will attend the University of California, Berkeley where she will major in Genetics. She is looking to a career in either forensics or the pharmaceutical industry.

Nicole Sliger: GPA: 3.5 Nicole has taken A.P. English II, American Literature and U.S. History. She has four varsity letters- two in basketball and two in softball. In softball she was the cardinals MVP two times and was named to the Frontier All league team twice. Nicole won the Golden Glove, was the top home run hitter in the county as a junior and second in stolen bases. In basketball she won the Coaches Award and was team MVP. Nicole was a youth basketball coach, basketball referee and T-Ball umpire. She participated in the Santa Paula Beautiful Campaign and the Relay for Life. Nicole intends to attend Ventura College and major in criminal justice. She hopes to become a probation officer.

Johnny Carrillo: GPA: 3.1 Johnny has two varsity letters in Baseball and one in Basketball. In Baseball he has been named to the All league team two times, the All County team two times and to the All CIF team twice. He holds the Cardinal’s stolen base record in a season (25) and also in a career. In Basketball he was selected 1st Team All Frontier League. Johnny has been an umpire in the Santa Paula Little League. His career goal is to become the first person in his family to graduate from college. He will enroll at Ventura College in and major in Criminal Justice. He hopes to become a police officer.

SIMI VALLEY

Brittany Asplund: GPA: 3.9 Brittany has taken A.P. classes in Calculus AB, English Language, English 12, Government and Economics. She has earned four academic letters and has received the scholar athlete award four times. Brittany has four varsity basketball letters and two in volleyball. She started in every basketball game for four years. She owns school records in offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds and total rebounds. She was selected All Tournament seven times, was All Marmonte League three times and All Ventura County and All CIF twice and was chosen Pioneer captain. In volleyball, she was voted both Most Improved and Most Inspirational. Brittany is a Simi Valley Parks and Rec volunteer and actively works with her church youth group. She is headed to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she will major in Engineering. Her career goal is to be a biomedical engineer.

Lorne Bell: GPA: 3.1 Lorne was awarded the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame (San Fernando Chapter) Scholar Athlete Award. He has three varsity Football letters and two in Basketball. In Football Lorne has been al All Marmonte league selection for three years. As a junior, he was Pioneer Defensive MVP, Ventura County Defensive Player of the Year and named to the All CIF team. In his senior year, he was chosen All County as a wide receiver, All CIF as a safety and was Simi’s MVP. In Basketball, he was selected Defensive Player of the Year twice. Lorne has volunteered as an usher at his church and is a youth Sunday School teacher. He has accepted a football scholarship to Fresno State where he will enroll in the fall. He wants to major in communications and hopefully someday play in the NFL.

THACHER

Erica Pucetti: GPA: 4.4 Erica has taken A.P. classes in Spanish Language, English, Psychology, Calculus, U.S. History and Biology. She has received commendations in Spanish, English and History and has been recognized by the National Hispanic Recognition Program. She ranks number 1 in her class. Erica has earned ten varsity letters- four in basketball, 3 in volleyball and 3 in lacrosse. In basketball she was chosen team captain two times and All CIF for two years. She has played on both a CIF runner-up and CIF championship team. She is the MVP and first girl at Thacher to score over 1000 points. In lacrosse, she played on two SCGLA championship teams and one Western States champion. In volleyball she was voted Best Offensive Player. Erica has volunteered at the fire department toy drive, in Project Head Start and was school prefect. Erica is going on to USC looking towards a career in social work.

Lynne Fletcher: GPA: 3.4 Lynne has eight varsity letters- four in cross country and four in track. In cross country she has forty-one separate honors including being named the Lancer’s Outstanding Runner as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. She has been team captain for two years, All Marmonte for three years, All County for two years and All CIF twice. She has been on the STAR’s 1st team two years and was this years Runner of the Year. Lynne has run in the State championships all four years. This year the Lancers were State champions. She placed 6th. In track she has been most valuable athletes four times and, as a junior placed, 10th in the State Meet. During her career at T.O. she has been on seven Marmonte League teams. Lynne participated in Arbor Day tree planting in Westlake, volunteered at a local elementary school and makes soup at her church for ailing shut-ins. Lynne is going to BYU in the fall where she will run track and cross country. She hopes to work in Sports Medicine as a chiropractor.

Matt Luft: GPA: Matt has taken A.P. classes in European History, U.S. History, American Literature, English, Calculus and Physics. He has been a scholar athlete of four years and a member of the Ventura County All Academic Football team. Matt has four varsity letters in Football and three in Basketball. In Football he has been All Marmonte for three years, team MVP for two years, team captain and winner of the Lancer’s prestigious Green Helmet award twice. In Basketball he has won the Coaches award three years in a row and was chosen All Marmonte twice. Matt has volunteered in his church’s youth group, been a confirmation tutor and worked for Conejo Special Kids Day. Matt will attend Harvard University in September but is undecided on his major as of yet.

VENTURA H.S.

Erin McLain: GPA: 4.4 Erin has taken A.P. classes in American Government, Economics and Health and Wellness. She has been on the Cougar Honor Roll, CSF and the National Honor Society every semester. Erin has four varsity letters in Softball. She has been the starting Ventura catcher for four years. She has been selected to the All League team four times and chosen All CIF three times. Erin was team captain three times and All County twice. As a senior she hit .550 and led her team to the CIF playoffs. Erin has been a junior volunteer in the Community Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. She is a special education Peer Helper and works as an elementary tutor in Project Understanding. She volunteers in the Above and Beyond Program for disabled children. Erin will enter the United States Military Academy at West Point in September, she hopes to be career military officer possibly with an emphasis in hospital administration.

Nick Larson: GPA: 3.2 Nick has three varsity letters in Basketball. He was named to All Tournament teams in five different tournaments and was the MVP of the Kiwanis. He is the Cougar MVP and was selected to the All Channel league teams three years. This year he was the Channel League Co MVP on the County Coaches Association 1st team and played in the County All Star Game. Nick is the CIF 1-A Player of the Year and was chosen for the All State Div.I 1st team. An interesting side note is that Nick is the third person in his family to represent his school as Athlete of the Year at the Annual Hall of Fame Banquet. His mother, Ann Menke Larson from Buena and his sister, Shelaine, from Moorpark College were also selected. Nick has accepted a Basketball scholarship to Northern Arizona University where he will major in Construction Management.

VILLANOVA

Mary Wiggins: GPA: 4.1 Mary has taken A.P. classes in American Literature, World Literature and Calculus. She has made the Headmaster’s List for four years and is a Clare Boothe Luce scholar. Mary has 10 varsity letters- four in softball, two in volleyball, two in basketball, one in soccer and one in track. She has been named softball captain twice, Most Inspirational player and twice was declared Player of the Year. In volleyball she has been named Most Dedicated, chosen team captain and was team MVP. Mary is co-President of Interact and is a senior scout working towards her Gold Award. She will attend either Syracuse, Penn. State, Arizona or Villanova. Mary hopes to be an orthopedist specializing in sports injuries and will major in pre-med.

Sean Forster: GPA: 4.2 Sean has taken A.P. Calculus Band C and Latin (Virgil). He is a member of CSF, is on the Headmaster’s List, won the CIF Victory with Honor Award and is a member of the National Honor Society. He has earned four varsity football letters. He has won the Coaches Award, was the Most Outstanding Defensive Back and the Most Outstanding Offensive Back twice. Sean was selected to the All Ventura County team three times, was team MVP, All CIF twice and this year, was the County co-MVP. He has volunteered in the American Heart Association Heart and Sole Run, the Police Athletic League and the Multiple Sclerosis Walk. Sean offered scholarships to University of San Diego, Occidental, Merrimack University and Northeastern in Boston. Sean has selected Northeastern where he will play football and major in Health Sciences. His career goal is attend Bouve School of Medicine and become a doctor.

WESTLAKE

Ericka Baer: GPA: 4.3 Ericka has taken A.P. classes in English Literature, Psychology, Statistics and Government and Politics. She has been a scholar athlete for four years and a member of the National Honor Roll. She is Westlake’s representative to the California Girls State and has the highest four-year GPA in the Warrior’s Girls Soccer team history. She has four varsity soccer letters. Ericka has been team captain for two years and is this year’s MVP. She has been selected All Marmonte three times, All Ventura County three times and chosen for the All CIF team twice. Ericka has been a volunteer for the American Red Cross, at the Sunrise Assisted Living Home, at many mansions and has worked for the Relay for Life. Ericka has accepted an athletic scholarship to play soccer for Colorado College where she will major in Biology. She hopes to become an orthopedic surgeon.

Jeff Rapoport: GPA: 3.8 Jeff has taken A.P. classes in Chemistry, History and Environmental Science. He has three varsity letters in Football and four in Baseball. In Football in his sophomore he was 1st team All Marmonte, 1st team All State Sophomore on a Warriors team that was Marmonte league champion that went on to win the Div. IV championship. In his junior year, he was team captain, team MVP, All Marmonte, All County, All County Academic and named to the Cal Hi Sports All CIF team. In his senior year, he was team captain before sustaining a serious injury in Game 3 vs. Hart. In his career he scored 31 T.D.s and gained 2800 yards for a career average of 7.5 yards per carry. In Baseball he has been the Warrior captain for two years and also 1st team All Marmonte twice. He holds the school single season record for stolen bases with 29. he was honored as an Aflac All American and named to the Sony Play Station All American Team. Jeff volunteered at the Ventura Rescue Mission and at the Johns Hopkins pediatric oncology ward. He has been offered a full baseball scholarship at UCLA.

CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY

Lauren Stroot: GPA: 3.3 Lauren has competed in Basketball at CLU for four years on an academic scholarship. She was Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All league choice all four years. She holds the CLU career scoring record, shot 57% field goal percentage, was the fifth highest scorer in the country and was the highest scoring forward nationally. Lauren was the STAR Women’s Player of the Year, the SCIAC All Conference Player of the Year, the Western Regional Player of the Year and a NCAA Division III All American. She was also a Kodak All American Honorable Mention and led her team to a Conference championship. Lauren has volunteered in a “love of Reading” program, coached at the Lu Dogs Basketball camps and has been an aide at the Camarillo YMCA. She recently received her BA in Liberal Studies. She will continue her education in the fall at Graduate School where she will pursue a Master’s degree in Education.

Christian Hariot: GPA: 3.0 Christian competed in Baseball at C.L.U. In his junior year he was a 1st Team All Southern California Intercollegiate Conference selection. He was also named to the All West Region 1st Team and was chosen an All American. As a senior he hit .323 with a .472 slugging percentage. He was again named All West Region and was an All American. Christian graduated last month with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. His eventual dream is to own a business of his own or be an entrepreneur.

MOORPARK COLLEGE

Tai Battle: GPA: 3.3 as a freshman Tai was the Western State Conference champion in both the hammer and the discus. She went on to become the Southern California champion in both events. In the State Meet, she was both the State champion and the MVP of the State Meet. This year, Tai repeated as Western State champion, the Southern California champion and State champion in both events and was again named MVP of the State championships. In her two years at Moorpark College, Tai has been All American seven times, an outstanding achievement. Tai has accepted a full athletic scholarship to Ohio State University where she will major in Criminology.

Keith Lawrence: GPA: 3.26 Keith is a two year letterman in Basketball. As a Freshman, he was the Raiders MVP and selected to the Western States Conference 1st team. As a sophomore he repeated as the Raiders MVP. In addition he was the Ventura Count STAR Spring Sports Player of the Year, earned Western State Conference 1st team honors and was named 1st team All State. Keith’s specialty is a deadly three point shot. He was the most influential on-court figure in returning the Raiders to glory which included four post-season victories in two years and a Conference co-championship. His goal this summer is to somehow find a connection to UCLA where he can join the traditional pick up games in Pauley Pavilion to keep sharp for his next career move. Keith has accepted a Basketball scholarship to Concordia University where he will major in Mathematics. He hopes to become a Math teacher.

Danielle Falk: GPA: 4.00 Danielle for two years has been a Scholar Athlete, Governor’s Scholar and on the Dean’s List. Her Volleyball career has been stellar also. She has led her team to 2 undefeated seasons and 2 league championships. She holds team records for kills, aces, blocks and digs. In her freshman year, she earned the Coaches Award and was selected to the All Western State Conference1st team. As a sophomore she was team captain, team MVP, WSC MVP, All State and was nominated All American. Her coach characterizes her as the most disciplined athlete she has ever coached. Her strong work ethic will bring her success at the next level. In the fall she will enroll at …………….. and major in ………………

Charles Dillon: Charles is one of the very few athletes who have competed and starred for two years in both Football and Basketball at the College level. In his Ventura College Football career he holds records for singles season and career receptions, career receiving yardage, was team MVP, 1st team All Western State Conference and 1st team All State. In Basketball he was also team MVP, 1st team All Western State Conference, the WSC Player of the Year and 1st team All State. It is an amazing accomplishment to be chosen All State in two sports. Coach Winslow calls Charles “the best athlete I’ve ever coached.” Charles will enroll at Washington State University in September on full athletic scholarship where he is expected to play both sports for the Cougars.
