BUENA

Rebecca Klamser: GPA: 3.4 Rebecca has earned four varsity letters in Soccer. She has played on Bulldog teams that have reached the semi-finals in CIF, the runner-up in CIF and won the CIF Championship. She has been named to the All CIF team four times, the All Channel League team four times, the All Ventura County team three times and the All L.A. Times team twice. Rebecca has been team captain for two years, Buena’s MVP for two years and the Channel League MVP. She has participated in student mission work in Mexico for the Ventura Missionary Church. She volunteers at their vacation Bible school and child care center. Rebecca and her father are exploring the possibility of conducting a soccer clinic for girls in Nigeria next year. In the fall, she will accept a soccer scholarship to Pepperdine University where she will major in Liberal Arts. She hopes to become an event planner and manager.

Ryan Plum: GPA: 3.7 Ryan has taken AP Calculus and has been on the school Honor Roll. He has earned four varsity letters- two in Baseball and two in Basketball. In Basketball, Ryan has been selected to All Tournament teams at both Beverly Hills and Saugus. He led his team in 3-point shooting, was team captain, the Bulldogs Defensive MVP and an All League player. In Baseball he pitched 52 innings, had 54 strikeouts and a 2.90 ERA. He played on a St. Louis Cardinals scout team and had an ERA of 1.5 averaging over two strikeouts per inning pitched. Ryan finished his Buena Bulldog Baseball career as Team Captain, Pitcher of the Year, 2nd team All County, and was selected to the Ventura County All Star team. He won the Hank Ertman Outstanding Student Scholar-Athlete Award and topped it all off by being recognized for outstanding academic achievement by winning the President’s Award. Ryan has volunteered with his church in feeding the homeless and has also coached a Little League team. He has accepted a scholarship to play Baseball at California State University, LA. He will major in Engineering. He hopes to have a professional Baseball career or work in Architecture.

CAMARILLO

Lindsey Dean: GPA: 4.2 Lindsay has taken AP classes in European History, U.S. History, Spanish 4, English 3 and 4, Calculus AB, Environmental Science and Economics. Each of her four years at Camarillo she has earned the Scholastic Achievement award, the Scholar Athlete award been selected All CIF Academic Athlete. Lindsay has four varsity letters in Softball. She was named Pacific League Pitcher of the Year four times. She has been the Scorpions MVP twice and won the Jessica Mendoza award. She has been All Ventura County four times, All CIF two times and has been selected to the All State team twice. Lindsay finished her senior season with a record of 200 wins and 2 losses. She allowed 7 earned runs in 144.2 innings for an amazing ERA of 0.34. She struck out 254 and completed 21 games including eight no-hitters. Lindsay has volunteered in the Relay for Life, Boys and Girls Clubs fundraisers, the RAIN project and youth softball leagues. She has accepted a softball scholarship to De Paul University where she will major in business.

Dan Rasp: GPA: 3.5 Dan has received academic honors for four years and has been selected an All CIF Academic All American representing Camarillo High School. Dan has four varsity letters in Basketball. He has been elected team captain, the Scorp’s MVP three times, All Pacific League three times and All Ventura County twice. In his senior year, he was selected the MVP of the Pacific League and named to the All CIF first team. He was also first team in both the Daily News and STAR All Area teams. Dan has accepted an academic scholarship to Westmont University.

CHANNEL ISLANDS

Marie Beck: GPA: 4.6 Marie has taken AP classes in Biology, U.S. History, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Calculus, U.S. Government, Economics and Physics. She is a Ventura STAR scholar, a valedictorian candidate and ranks #1 in her class. Marie has earned six varsity letters: three in Basketball and three in Softball. In Softball, she has been named All Pacific View League three times and has been Raiders MVP twice. In Basketball, she has won Most Improved Award and been named to the All league team twice. Marie has volunteered in the community extensively including helping at the South Oxnard Library, the MS Bike tour, Toys for Tots, the Strawberry Festival, Food Share and has organized a canned food drive. She received the Sam Walton Community scholarship and will enroll at Brigham Young University in the fall where she will major in Mathematics hoping to become a Math teacher.

Nicholas Porter: GPA: 3.3 Nicholas has been on the National Honor Roll for all four years at C.I. He has earned three varsity letters in Football. During his career he has received the “Big Hitter” Award, the Coaches Award and led his Raider team in rushing, tackles and touchdowns for two years. After his senior year he was awarded the prestigious “Pariso” Award and was team MVP. He was also selected first team All County at the linebacker position. Nicholas has volunteered in various roles for the Oxnard 49ers Football Program. In the fall he will enroll at Ventura College where he will major in engineering/architecture hoping for a career in automotive design.

CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN

Jessica Castro: GPA: 4.5 Jessica has been honored with the Joel McCrea Award and the Eagle Award which both include all areas of scholarship, athletics and leadership. She ranks #1 in her class and is valedictorian. Jessica has earned four varsity letters in Softball. She has been team captain, All League two times, team MVP twice and selected to the All CIF team once. She has also earned four varsity letters in Co-ed Soccer. She has been named Most Inspirational, received the Coaches Award, been team captain, team MVP and named to the All League team twice. In Volleyball, she has been Most Inspirational and selected to the All League team. Jessica has volunteered extensively building homes in Tecate; feeding and clothing migrant workers; peer group tutoring and in youth outreach. In the fall she will enroll at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa as a pre-law major with the career goal of becoming a judge.

 

FILLMORE

Crystal Bingham: GPA: 3.50 Crystal has been a 4-year Honor Roll student as well as a 4-Year Renaissance scholar athlete. She has 4 varsity letters in softball. As a freshman, sophomore and junior she was selected All Tri-Valley League Second Team. Her senior year Crystal was selected to the All CIF Softball Team and was chosen Frontier Leagues MVP Player-of-the-Year. Crystal has given back to her community by coaching ASA Softball for Fillmore. This fall Crystal will be continuing her education at Moorpark College where she plans to play softball for the Raiders.

Curtis Cole: GPA: 3.2 Curtis has been a four-year Honor Roll student as well as four-year Renaissance scholar athlete. He has eight varsity letters: two in Football, two in Basketball, two in Baseball and two in Golf. As a junior in Football he was selected to the All Tri-Valley League 1st team and was the Fillmore Flashes Lineman of the Year. As a senior, Curtis was an All CIF Lineman and both All-County MVP and Frontier League Lineman of the Year. He repeated as Lineman of the Year and was voted team captain. He was inducted into the Fillmore High School Hall of Fame primarily for breaking the school’s tackles records during the 2006 season. Curtis has been very active in the community both coaching and officiating in for the Fillmore Little League, Fillmore Youth basketball. He was recognized by the Fillmore Raiders Youth Football organization for being the only Raider to return and coach youth football during all four years of his high school career. Curtis has received a scholarship from Ventura County Indian Education organization and is the first ever Fillmore alumnus to enter a Div.I football program directly after graduation. He will attend Arizona State University in the fall and major in Kinesthesiology, on his way to a career in Sports Medicine.

GRACE BRETHREN

Leslie Windham: GPA: 3.9 Leslie has taken AP classes in Statistics, English Literature and Composition. She is a four-year member of the CSF, a CIF Academic All American in Volleyball and Basketball and a 2005 Science Fair winner. She is the 2nd member of her family to be honored at this event, her sister Lauren represented Grace Brethren in 2005. She has earned four letters in Volleyball and three in Basketball. In Volleyball she was named to the All League team four times and played on a CIF Div. V championship team. In Basketball she was selected All League three times. Leslie was team captain twice each in both sports. She has volunteered in Operation Christmas Child, the Harvest festival, a Mexican Missions trip and as a youth volleyball coach. In the fall, Leslie will continue her Volleyball career at The Master’s College where she will major in Kinesthesiology. She hopes to become a physical therapist.

Brian Simeri: GPA: 3.5 Bryan has been on the Honor Roll for four years and was inducted as a student/athlete at the nationals Football Foundation Hall of Fame. He has been rewarded with an academic scholarship from California Lutheran University. Bryan has earned four varsity letters in Football and four in Soccer. In Football he was named Gatorade “Rookie of the Year”; the prestigious Knight’s Award and was All League three times. He played on two championship teams one of which went to the Div.XI Finals and the other winning the Div.XII CIF championship. In Soccer he was All League and team captain. Bryan has been on mission trips to Mexico, packed food boxes for the Children’s Hunger Fund and has participated in prison ministries. Bryan will enroll at CLU as a Sports medicine major hoping for a career either in Sports Medicine or as a firefighter.

HUENEME

Dee Pinkard: Dee Pinkard has taken AP classes in English and Mathematics. He has earned three varsity letters in Basketball, two varsity letters in Football and two in Track. In Basketball he has been named to the All Pacific League three times, the All County team twice and has been the Vikings MVP two times. In his senior year he led Ventura County in scoring. In Football, he was All League twice and All County in his senior year. He was Hueneme’s Offensive Player of the Year and was awarded the Victory with Honor Trophy. Dee has volunteered in canned food drives for needy families. In the fall he will attend Ventura College which he hopes will lead to a career in Business. Dee’s grandfather, Bedford Pinkard, is a long-time Oxnard Councilman and Hall of Fame Board member.

La REINA

Emily Bibb: GPA: 3.8 Emily has taken AP Photography. She is a CSF member, a scholastic All American, class president in 9th and 10th Grade and again this year as a senior. In her resume are 62 individual and school honors. Some of those include winning 15 individual CIF championships in the 50, freestyle, 100 m free, 200 IM and the 400 free relay. She holds four CIF records, has been league MVP four times, All Ventura County four times and All American four times. She is a Junior National team finalist and nationally ranked in 6 events. She is the STAR “Swimmer of the Year”, a U.S. National Top 15 swimmer, a World Top 50 swimmer and an Olympic Trial qualifier (fastest time standard in the world). Emily has volunteered for 6 years at the Boys and Girls Club of Simi Valley, has been a Girl Scouts volunteer assistant and has coached youth age swimmers for the Ventura County Swim Conference. In the fall Emily will enroll at UCLA on a swimming scholarship. She will major in Journalism with a minor in Political Science. She plans to swim in the Olympics and eventually become a broadcast journalist.

MOORPARK H.S.

Chelsea Daley: GPA: 3.1 Chelsea has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll every semester at Moorpark H.S. She has three varsity letters in Volleyball and has been named to the All Marmonte League team four times. In her junior year, she was honored as the Offensive MVP and as a senior was the Musketeer MVP. She has been selected to various All Tournament teams including MVP of the Ventura H.S. Tournament. She was named to the STAR All County team. She also has a distinguished club career with the Junior National team. Chelsea has been a volunteer at the Los Robles Hospital, helped with the Relay for Life and coached volleyball at the local middle school. She will continue her volleyball career ay Azusa Pacific University where she will enroll in their Nursing Program hoping to become a Registered Nurse.

Nick Karam: Nicolas is on the Athletic Honor Roll. He has three varsity letters in Track and two in Football. In Track, he was Marmonte League Triple Jump champion three times, a CIF qualifier three times, a Ventura County champion two times and a CIF Finalist two times. In Football as a senior, he was an Offensive MVP, 1st team All Marmonte League and an All Star Game selection. He is the Musketeer “Muskie” Award winner as the most dedicated male athlete of the year. Nicolas is a youth volunteer at Holy Cross Church, has worked for Relay for Life and has served as a Moorpark Packer youth football coach. In the fall, he will enroll at Moorpark College and major in Engineering.

NEWBURY PARK

Corey Welsh: GPA: 4.52 Cory has taken A.P. Calculus, English 12 AB, Biology 1B, U.S. Government and Politics, Psychology, Spanish 4, U.S. History and World History. She has been a scholar athlete every semester, an A.P. scholar, a Principal’s scholar, a Leadership scholar nominee and school representative to the Youth Citizenship Seminar at Pepperdine University. Cory has earned three varsity letters in Tennis, three in Softball and two in Soccer. She has been honored as a “Triple Threat Athlete” two times and this year earned the Best Attitude Award. Cory has volunteered has a counselor at Outdoor Education Camp Bloomfield which is a soccer training camp for disabled youth, United Blood Services Drives, Relay for Life and has been a volunteer referee for AYSO soccer. She will attend USC and major in Communications. She hopes to establish a career in Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism or Human resources.

Jason Anderson: GPA: 3.9 Jason has been a scholar athlete all four years. He was selected to the All Ventura County Academic Football team. Jason has four varsity letters in Baseball and two in Football. In Baseball, he has played on a Marmonte League championship team, been All League twice, All Ventura County and the Panther Most Valuable Defensive Player. In Football, he was all league and team captain. Jason has completed a 100 hour service project benefiting school and community which qualified him as an Eagle Scout. He has earned an academic scholarship to Brigham Young University-Idaho. He will be a pre-med major with the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

NORDHOFF

Kristi O'Connor: GPA: 3.06 Kristi has been a scholar athlete for four years. She has been named to the Honor Roll, the Principal’s Honor Roll and the Faculty Honor Roll. She is a CSF member. Kristi has four varsity letters in Soccer and has been selected 1st team All Frontier League two times. Her teams have won the Frontier League and advanced to the semi finals in CIF. This year she was team captain and Defensive Player of the Year. Kristi has volunteered at the Humane Society and as a volunteer in youth volleyball and soccer. She has been rewarded with an API scholarship and will major in Nursing in college. She hopes to specialize in pediatrics.

Brandon Shirck: GPA: 3.11 Brandon has been on the Honor Roll four times and has earned a scholarship from the Ventura County Community Foundation. Brandon has three varsity letters in Cross Country, three in Track and one in Football. In Cross country, he led his Rangers to two league championships and to the CIF Finals. He was All League two times, All County two times, All CIF- Div. III, and named to the All State team. In Track he was the Frontier League champion in the 1600 three times, the 3200m twice and was selected All County and All CIF. He owns the Ranger record in the 1600m. Brandon has volunteered as the assistant coach of a local youth track team and helped with the renovation of the Oak View Little League Baseball Field. In the fall, he will enroll as California Polytechnic University where he will major in Recreational Administration.

OAK PARK

Breanne Strenkowski: GPA: 3.8 Breanne has taken AP classes in Psychology and Spanish. She has been on the Academic Honor Roll for her entire career at Oak Park. She has been All League two times, All Ventura County twice and selected to the All State team two times. In her junior year, the Eagles finished #2 in the State Meet running the 10th best time in history and at the NIKE meet in Portland they finished #12 in the country. In her senior year her team was 2nd in CIF and 2nd in the State. Breanne was also team captain. As a member of Calvary Community Church, she has volunteered building homes in poor areas of Mexico. In the fall, Breanne will enroll at the University of California, Santa Barbara on a Cross Country scholarship. She will major in Biochemistry. She hopes to become a Sports Chiropractor.

Kareem Maddox: GPA: 3.9 Kareem has taken AP Statistics, English II and Economics. He is a four year CSF member and a national Achievement Scholastic Finalist. He has four varsity letters in Track and two in Basketball. In Track he was the Eagles MVP in Field events three times. He was All Tri Valley League three times in the high jump and once in the triple jump. He was the Ventura County runner-up in the in the High jump twice and champion once. He was a CIF Finalist for the last three years. In Basketball he was team MVP two times, All Tri Valley two times, All Tri Valley twice, All County two times and All CIF two times. This year he was County Player of the Year and named to the Cal Hi All State team. He was the first County player ever to score more than 500 points, grab more than 300 rebounds and block more than 100 shots as he led his team to consecutive league championships. Kareem has volunteered over 300 hours at the YMCA and was selected as the Prudential Spirit of Community Service Award. In the fall he will enroll at Princeton University as an Economics major. After playing Basketball overseas, he hopes for a career in Investment Banking.

OXNARD H.S.

Camille Soto: GPA: 3.5 Camille has three varsity letters in Volleyball and three in Track. In Volleyball she was team MVP three times, League MVP twice, All County three times and her teams qualified for CIF three times making the quarterfinals in her junior year. She was named to the All Tournament teams at both Royal and Redondo. In Track she was the Yellowjackets MVP three times, All Ventura County in both the Shot Put and the Discus and went to CIF each of her three seasons. She was also Pacific League champion in both events. Camille has volunteered in beach clean-ups, has served food at the Rescue Mission and sews blankets and beanies for the premature babies at St. John’s Hospital, Oxnard. She has accepted n athletic scholarship to Graceland University where she will study to be an athletic trainer.

Omondi Omoke: GPA: 3.5 Omondi has four varsity letters in Basketball. He was named All Pacific League four times, All Ventura County four times, All CIF three times and, remarkably, All State four times. He is the Yellowjacket all time shot blocker and number two on the list for scoring, rebounding and steals. As a senior, Omondi was the STAR Player of the Year and was a “Parade magazine” All American. He has accepted a full athletic scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley where he will major either in Business or Communications. He hopes to own and run his own business in the future.

PACIFICA

Suzie Davis: GPA: 3.65 Suzannah has taken AP classes in Biology, English and U.S. Government and Politics. She has been a scholar athlete every semester and received the Trident Award two times for the top female student in a combination of Arts, Athletics and Academics. Suzie has earned eight varsity letters. In Tennis she was All Pacific League two times and led her team to CIF wins both years. She has the school record for most sets won in a career. In Basketball she has thirty individual team records including having been named MVP of three tournaments, team MVP three times, All League three times, All Ventura County three times and this year was selected First Team All CIF. She led her team to the CIF semifinals and the State tournament. She was the leading scorer in the county and holds every school record. She was Pacifica’s Athlete of the Year both in her junior and senior year and was the school’s nominee for the High School Heisman trophy. Suzie has volunteered for Beach Clean Up days and was a Powerhouse Basketball, Camp counselor. She has accepted a basketball scholarship to St. Mary’s College.

Raynard Pamilton: GPA: 3.2 Raynard has been a scholar athlete, was recognized by the Martin Luther King Academic Achievement Award and a Delta Sigma Theta Award. Raynard has four varsity letters in Football and four in Basketball and one in Track. In Football he earned the Coaches Award. The Offensive Player of the Year and team MVP. He led the county this year in receiving yards, setting a Pacifica school record. He was a Wendy’s Heisman nominee. In Basketball, he was named Best Defensive Player and set a school record for steals. In Track, he set school records in both Long and High Jumps. Raynard has volunteered extensively in the 24/7 Impact Organization, the Project Outreach Ministry and the Guide Right Program which focuses on mentoring young black males. He will attend Fresno State University majoring in Social Science. Raynard hopes to have a career in advocacy for disabled students. He will walk-on for the Fresno St. Bulldogs Football team.

RIO MESA

Samantha Milner: GPA: 3.2 Samantha has four varsity letters in Water Polo, four in Golf and one in Swimming as a freshman. In Water Polo she has been named to the All League team four times. In her senior year she was team MVP, 1st team All League and Pacific League MVP. She was chosen to be goalie on the Junior Olympic Water Polo team and played in Florida for her country. She was also selected to the All Ventura County and All CIF teams. In Golf, Sam has been on the All League team four times and was the team MVP in her Senior Year. She has volunteered with the Surf Rider Foundation and has been counselor for both Outdoor School and for Youth Groups. In the fall she will enroll at the Art Institute of California in Orange County where she will major in Graphic Design. She hopes to work for Surfer Magazine.


Josh Harrison: GPA: 3.1 Joshua has three varsity letters in Track and Field and two in Football. In Track as a sophomore he was a CIF finalist in the Long Jump. As a junior he was All Pacific League, All Ventura County, CIF and Master’s champion in the Long Jump and a member of the 4X100 Relay team that ran fourth in the State. As a senior he repeated as the Pacific View League, Ventura County, CIF and Masters champion in the Long Jump. He was also Pacific League and County champion 9n the 100m, 200m. and the 4X100 Relay. In Football, he was named to the All League team twice and as a senior, was 1st team All County as a wide receiver. Josh is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a volunteer at the Bible Fellowship Church and a U.S. Olympic Torch Bearer Runner. In the fall, he will enroll at San Jose State on a Football scholarship. He will major in Business.

ROYAL

Jade Anderson: GPA: 3.7 Jade has taken AP classes in U.S. History and World History. She has five varsity letters in Wrestling and Track. In Track she competed as a pole vaulter for three years and holds the Highlander school vault record and was team Field MVP. In Wrestling she has been CIF champion at the 134 lbs. twice. In 2005 she placed 5th in the State Wrestling Meet. In 2006 she placed third, this year jade placed second. In the National Women’s Tournament she placed 12th in 2006 and 9th in 2007. She was part of a Royal team that won three Marmonte League championships and two CIF championships. Jade has many hours of Community Service during eight years in the Girl Scouts. In the fall, Jade will continue her Wrestling career at the University of the Pacific.

Michael Cybulski: GPA: 3.5 Michael has taken AP Calculus. In the history of Hall of Fame, the most accomplished athlete resume listed 63 separate honors. Mike Cybulski has listed 88 different achievements which will be impossible to fully enumerate. His Cross Country honors include leading his Highlanders to 17 team championships including Woodbridge three times, Stanford twice, Mt. SAC three times, the Ventura County Championships three times, the Marmonte League Championships, the large school CIF championship three times and the California State Championship two times. In the National Nike Meets, Mike’s team finished 6th, 4th and 2nd in the United States. Mike’s individual honors include the Marmonte League, Ventura County, Daily News and STAR Runner of the Year multiple times. He broke the Marmonte League course record by 14 seconds. In the State Meet, he ran the fastest time of the day. At the Nike National Meet, he placed 3rd in the United States. He is a High School All American. In Track it is even harder to detail his honors in the 3200, the 1600 and his team honors in distance relay medleys. He is the 3200 champion of Ventura County and the CIF Prelims and CIF Finals Individual champion two times each. He is the first person in 84 years from Ventura County to win the State Championship two years in a row. He ran the 3rd fastest junior time in the United States. He has been the Marmonte League, the STAR and the Daily News Runner of the Year. He has the Marmonte record in both the 1600 and 3200. He was honored by being named to the USA Today National Track team and we have not done him justice in this short time. Mike has accepted a scholarship to UCLA where he will major in Business. He hopes to make our national team and eventually run professionally.

ST. BONAVENTURE

Noel Karnoski: Noel has taken AP Calculus and Government. She is a National Honor Society member who earned first academic honors for four years. She is also the recipient of the Quirk Family Award for scholastic and academic achievement. Noel has four varsity letters in Soccer and two in Track. In Soccer, she was named Defender of the Year and was team leader of all winter sports in GPA. In Track, she was a member of the 4X100 Relay team that set both a school and league record. Noel has volunteered in the Leo Club Beach Clean-Up and has tutored 5th Graders at Drifill Elementary School. In the fall, she will enroll at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she will major in Nutrition. She hopes to become a Veterinarian.

SANTA CLARA

Jamie Borland: GPA: 3.9 Jamie has taken AP classes in U.S. History and Spanish III. She is a member of the National Honor Society, is listed in “Who’s Who" of High School Students” and is ranked #9 in her class. Jamie has earned four varsity letters in Basketball. She has been named to All Tournaments in five tournaments, need the Saints’ best Offensive Player and the team MVP two times. Her teams went to CIF twice including a quarter final appearance. Jamie has been a volunteer at St. John’s Medical Center, a Relay for Life participant and has worked in the Knights of Columbus Youth Athletic Leagues. In the fall, Jamie will enroll in the Ventura College Nursing Program to pursue a career in Health Care.


Paul Perez: Paul has two varsity letters in Football. As a junior he was named Offensive Player of the Year and selected to the All County team. As a senior he was KEYT Player of the Week, Ventura County STAR Player of the Week and received the Coaches Award. He holds the Saints career rushing records and was their Offensive Player of the league. He was All Frontier League, All Ventura County and 1st team All CIF. Paul was a Knights of Columbus volunteer and helped with city clean-ups and food drives. In the fall he will enroll at Moorpark College where he will major in Sports Medicine with the career goal of Sports Therapy.

SANTA PAULA

Nianna Morris: GPA: 4.00 Nianna is a member of the National High School Society of High School Scholars, has been on the Honor Roll and been a scholar athlete every semester at Santa Paula. Additionally she has already completed 28 units of class-work at Ventura College. Nianna has earned four letters in Softball and three in Wrestling. In her career, she has earned Most Improved Wrestler, the Coaches Award and been MVP. Her team won their league championship and in three years she has placed 4th in the State two times and 2nd in the State once. She has been team captain and competed in the Girls national Wrestling Tournament in Michigan. In Softball, she has been All Tri County League three times, team captain and team MVP. Nianna has volunteered as a youth pitching coach, a church group coordinator and an elder companion in a senior citizen center where she works as a Bingo assistant. In the fall, Nianna will enroll at Oxnard College and major in Fine Arts. She would like to become a product designer in the clothing industry.

SIMI VALLEY

Anna Sperry: GPA: 3.6 Anna has taken AP classes in World History, U.S. History, English Language, Statistics, Government and Economics. She is the second member of her family to be honored at this event, following Caren in 2002. He resume includes 47 team and individual honors that are difficult to summarize in this short time. Anna has four varsity letters in Cross Country and four in Track. In Cross Country, she was the Marmonte League Champion three times, the Ventura County Champion three times and State Finalist. This year she finished 2nd in CIF-SS and 3rd in the State of California. She has been Pioneer team captain and MVP two years. In Track, Anna has been League champion in the 800m four times; the 1600m three times and the 3200 once. She has been the County champion in the 1600m three times; the 3200 m once and the 800m once. She is the State champion in the 1600m and named to the All State team. She holds league and county records in the 800m, the 1600m and the 3200m. She has been a CIF and State Finalist four times each. This year Anna was second in the 1600 m at the State Championships and set a county girl’s record. Her third place in the 3200 m. gave Simi Valley its highest ever State finish in school history. Anna’s service project was to help plan, clean and restore a Simi Valley elementary school. Anna has accepted an athletic scholarship to Brigham Young University where she will run both Cross Country and Track.

Mikey Murphy: GPA: 3.6 Mikey has taken AP classes in World History, U.S. History, Government, Economics and Computer Science. He has received the Academic Scholar Athlete award each semester. Mikey has four varsity letters in Wrestling. As a freshman he earned the Coaches award, was named to the All Marmonte League team and was a CIF qualifier. The next year he was named All League, qualified for CIF and was Pioneer MVP. As a junior he repeated as the team MVP, made the All League team, placed 4th in CIF and qualified for the Master’s Meet. In his senior year, he was team MVP, Marmonte League Lower weight MVP, a tri County All Star, a CIF champion, a 2nd place finisher at the Master’s Meet and finished in the top twelve in the State Meet. Mikey has volunteered hanging flags on Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations, helped with yard and home clean-up for the elderly and various community projects with his LDS youth group. In the fall he will enroll at Brigham Young University where he will major in Computer Science. He hopes to work towards an advanced degree in that field.

THOUSAND OAKS

Victoria Boden: GPA: 4.3 Victoria has taken AP classes in English, Economics/APS and Statistics. She is a four-year Scholar Athlete and has been on the Honor Roll every semester. She has earned three varsity letters in Volleyball. She has been named the Lancer Offensive MVP in her junior year and to the All Marmonte League team. In her senior year, Victoria was MVP of the Watts Summer Games, the Royal Invitational and the Marmonte League. She was named to the 1st team All Area in both the STAR and Daily News. Additionally the County Volleyball Coaches selected her first team All County. Victoria volunteers at county homeless shelters and at the Relay for Life. In the fall, she will enroll at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo majoring in Mathematics with hopes of becoming a high school math teacher.

Eric Kanney: GPA: 4.3 Eric has taken AP classes in European History, Chemistry, Spanish 4, Calculus and Physics. He has been a Scholar Athlete every semester, an AP scholar, a National Football Foundation Scholar and was a 1st team All Ventura County Football scholar. He received the 2007 Youth Recognition Award for Exemplary Community Service for the City of Thousand Oaks. (It is notable that Eric’s grandmother, Gail, has served as the chairperson of this Hall of Fame for the past eight years). Eric has earned six varsity letters- four in Wrestling and two in Football. In Wrestling he was honored as Rookie of the Year, been awarded the Mental Toughness award, was Team Captain, made the All Marmonte League team and qualified for the Master’s Meet. In Football, he was Special Teams Player of the Year, made the All Marmonte League team and was selected to play in this year’s All Ventura County East/West game. Eric has volunteered at the Westminster Free Clinic in Thousand Oaks. He has been rewarded by receiving appointments to both the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and the United States Military Academy at West Point. In the fall, he will become a cadet at West Point majoring in Life Sciences with the career goal of becoming a medical doctor specializing in field surgery.

VENTURA H.S.

Kali Bennett: GPA: 3.5 Kali is a four-year Lamp of Knowledge letter winner, the Kiwanis Scholar Athlete of the year and the American Indian Consortium Student of the Year. Kali has four varsity letters in Basketball. She has earned 36 different honors in her career. Briefly, she has been voted Channel League MVP four times, All Ventura County four times, All CIF four times has been named to tournament All Star teams eight times and named tournament MVP five times. This year she was the Cougar MVP, the Channel League MVP and the County MVP. She holds eight school records for blocks, rebounds, games played and points per career. Kali has volunteered at Ventura clean-ups at both the beach and downtown. She has been a volunteer coach at camps and clinics. In the fall, Kali will enroll at the University of Washington on a full Basketball scholarship. She will major in Design working towards a career in Fashion Design or in professional Basketball.

Abel Pacheco: Abel has four varsity letters in Soccer. He has set the Cougar record for career scoring with 53 goals and 25 assists. He scored a Channel League record of 7 goals in one game. Abel was team MVP for three times, All Channel league three times, MVPP of the League three times and CIF MVP this year. He has accepted a soccer scholarship to the University of Connecticut. He will major in pre-med hoping for a career as a medical doctor.

VILLANOVA

Alexandra Gibbs: GPA: 4.2 Alexandra has taken AP Spanish 4, received the Scholar Athlete award every semester, is a National Honor Society Member and a CSF Seal Bearer. She has been named to the Headmaster’s List all four years. Alexandra has 12 varsity letters. In Tennis, her team was Condor League champions four times, went to CIF semi-finals twice and went to CIF Finals her junior year. She has been Team Captain, received the Coaches Award for Excellence and was named to the All County team. In Basketball, Alexandra was on three league championships teams. She earned the Best Defensive Award twice, Most Improved Award, the Wildcat Award and was named to the All Frontier League team. In Softball, she won the Coaches and Team Leader Award. Alexandra has volunteered at the Assistance League Pre-School in Oxnard and at the Trinity Pre-School in Camarillo. In the fall she will enroll at Santa Clara University where she will major in Business.

Alex Stelzer: GPA: 3.7 Alex has taken AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus CD. He is a four year CSF member and was selected to the All Ventura County Academic Football team. Alex has two varsity Football letters, two in Basketball and two in Track. In Football, he was elected All League twice, All Ventura County twice and All CIF twice. In Basketball, he earned the Mr. Hustle Award, was the Wildcats Defensive MVP and the overall team MVP. He was both All League, All County and All CIF. In Track, he was a medalist in the High Jump, the Discus and the 110 High Hurdles. Alex has volunteered as a youth basketball coach for a team of 1st and 2nd graders. In the fall he will attend Cal Poly san Luis Obispo and major in Engineering.

WESTLAKE

Kate Edwards: GPA: 4.3 Kate has completed AP classes in European History, English, U.S. History, Spanish 4 and 5 and Statistics. She has been on the Honor Roll every semester, is an active CSF member and the Westlake Ventura County Scholar Athlete. Kate has seven varsity letters, four in Soccer and three in Tennis. In Soccer she was named to the All Marmonte League team four times, the All Ventura County team two times and the All CIF team two teams. She was Team Captain and MVP. (She tried out and made the Korean National team last summer but was unable to play in the Asian Games because it would mean missing school for two months). In Tennis she was All League two times. Kate volunteered in the Los Robles Hospital Emergency Department and spent a summer teaching English and Soccer in a very poor area in Nicaragua. Kate has accepted a Soccer scholarship to Rice University where she hopes to acquire the medical skills to dedicate her life to the children of Central America.

Ryan Campbell: GPA: 3.7 Ryan has taken AP classes in Calculus AB, Statistics and Environmental Science. He is a four-year CSF Honor Society member and is a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete. Ryan has four varsity letters in Football. He has been honored as the Top Gun Quarterback and the Warrior Offensive MVP three times. He was named to the All Marmonte League and All Ventura County teams two times each. In his senior year, he was 1st team All CIF on a Marmonte League championship Westlake team. Ryan has served on the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, an intercity outreach program and has volunteered at a senior citizen home. In the fall, Ryan will enroll at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs where he will major in Business.

CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY

Prudence Kjonvedt: Prudence is a 2003 graduate of Alemany High School in Mission Hills and graduated from CLU this May with a double major in Physics and Mathematics. She was selected for the Thouren Science Scholarship and was a Department Assistant in Physics. She also was a tutor in both the Math and Physics Departments. For four years she has been an impact Softball player starting every game for the Regals at 3rd base. She led CLU for four years in doubles, triples, home runs and RBIs. Her four-year batting average is an amazing .481. She has been named to the All Conference team four times. She has been named All Western Region NCAA Div. III team three times and SCIAC MVP once. She has been a two-time NCAA All American. Pru has been the epitome of a Cal Lutheran student athlete- outstanding in the classroom and on the field while remaining an athletic and academic role model for younger players. She hopes to pursue a Master’s and Doctorate in Astronomy with aspirations of working for NASA in Astrophysics.

Derek Rogers: GPA: 3.7 Derek’s home is in Yakima, Washington and he graduated from CLU in December. His academic excellence was rewarded by being named to the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar Award first time. This ward recognizes and honors students who exemplify the athletic and academic legacy of the great tennis player, Arthur Ashe. Derek was a dual sport athlete for the Kingsmen, competing for four years in both Soccer and Track. He was a starter and Captain of the Soccer team. He was also Captain of the Track team and competed in the 100m, the 200m, 400m, Triple Jump and High Jump. Derek was a student departmental leader and holder of a variety of leadership roles on campus. He graduated with academic distinction as a Business major.

MOORPARK COLLEGE

Elicia Hildreth: Elicia has two varsity letters in Volleyball and one in Basketball. In her Freshman year she received the Coaches Award, was named to the Western State Colleges 1st team, All League and was selected one of the Top Ten liberos in the State. In her second year, Elicia was the Raiders MVP, again on the 1st team All WSC and again was honored in the Top Ten liberos in California. In Basketball, she was voted Most Improved, Most Inspirational and had the highest field goal percentage. She was voted by the Moorpark Coaches as the Raider’s Female Athlete of the Year. Elicia has not yet decided her next career step.

Rex Bridgeforth:College GPA: 2.9 Rex is the Western State College champion in both the Triple Jump and High Jump and was selected the Western State College MVP in Field Events. He was both the Southern California and State champion in the Triple Jump and the runner up in High Jump. Rex was MVP of the State Meet and was selected a two time All American in both events. This year he was inducted into the Moorpark College Hall of Fame. Rex has not selected his next college step but he anticipates a major in Communications with a possible career in Broadcasting.

VENTURA COLLEGE

Sienna Kluck Escoto: Sienna has two varsity letters in Soccer. She has started 49 games and scored 45 goals and 19 assists. Her total 109 points is a Ventura College record. During her career, her team won two championships with a conference record of 22-2-2 and an overall record of 39-5-5. She ended her playing time at Ventura College holding most of the scoring records! She was Team Captain, team MVP, an NSCAA/Addidas All American (only the second in Ventura College history) and BK Sports All Tournament team member. She scored two of the program’s most important goals in the championship game against Cuesta. She joins a select group of players this year being honored as one of the top players in the United States. Sienna has volunteered coaching 8 year old Girls Club soccer and with the Ventura Fusion Soccer Club, sitting and transporting needy senior citizens and with the Conejo Valley Days “Special Kids” day. She hopes to continue her soccer career and major in Sports Medicine or Psychiatry looking towards professional athlete or coach, preferably working with Special Needs children.

Kneif Lhose: Kneif has been on the Dean’s List for two years with a college GPA pf 3.7 and is an Academic All American. He has two varsity letters in Water Polo and two in Swimming. In Water Polo he has been honored as an All WSC selection both years. This he was Team Captain, one of the leading scorers and an All Southern California selection. In Swimming, he has earned 28 different honors including All-WSC in six events, WSC champion in 6 events, All-American in seven events, holds the school records in the 800 free style relay and is State Individual champion in the 400 Medley. He was named California State Swimmer of the Year and is the John Tallman Memorial scholarship winner. He has volunteered at the Special Olympics Swim Meets. In the fall, Kneif plans to continue his education at U.C. Santa Cruz, with a possible career goal in the area of Sports Broadcasting or in the teaching field.
