1951: San Jose State University, San
Jose, Calif.


PROFESSIONAL
1951-1952, then again 1966-1969:
Ventura County Star-Free Press:
Sports columnist and writer as well as
news columnist and reporter.
1952-87: Sportscaster with Ventura
County radio stations KVEN, KQIQ,
KUDU, KSPA, KMIX and with a cable
television station. Covered Ventura
County high schools and Ventura
College games in football, basketball,
baseball and track and field as well as
Little League baseball. Traveled to
game locations from San Francisco
and Sacramento to San Diego. Radio
coverage also included broadcasting
Ventura's Class C minor league
baseball teams, the Ventura Yankees,
Ventura Braves and Channel City
Oilers.


HIGHLIGHT
1968: Broadcast coverage of the USA-
USSR dual track and field meet in Los
Angeles.

One of the USA athletes was double
Olympic gold-medal winner Mike
Larrabee of Ventura who won the 440-
yard dash.


COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
1954-55: Helped organize aKnights of
Columbus Council No. 2498 youth
basketball program that proved so
successful that it became the model for
the Ventura Youth Basketball
Association that continues play today.
