CAREER
OXNARD HIGH SCHOOL:
Tuck Mason coached at Oxnard High School from 1965 to 1976. He was Assistant JV Football coach in 1966, becoming Co-Head Freshman Coach in 1967-68.
He started as Assistant Track & Field Coach in 1965, becoming Head Coach in 1968. His teams won Channel League Championship in Cross Country in 1968, Marmonte League Cross County in 1971, and Marmonte League Track & Field Championships in 1970 and 1971.
VENTURA COLLEGE:
In 1976, Coach Mason began a long and illustrious career at Ventura College. From 1976 through 1998 he was Head Men’s Track & Field and Cross Country Coach, and Head Women’s Cross Country Coach. In 1980 he also became Head Women’s Track & Field Coach.
His teams won 15 WSC Championships in Men & Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country.; 3 Southern California Women’s Cross Country Championships, a State Women’s Cross Country Championship, A Men’s Southern California Cross Country Championship, and had both a First and a Second place finish in the Men’s State Meet.
He coached seven individual State Champions in Track & Field, and was eight times WSC Coach of the Year.
